Trust is one of the important factors that keeps the relationship and strong it can be, it can also break apart in minutes if you take one wrong step.
Apart from being loyal yourself, what is more important is that you trust your partner as much as your instinct of staying loyal no matter what.
One of the basic ways to strengthen the trust is to communicate. Talking out your problems and doubts with each other will free you from misconceptions that otherwise will only add to more serious problems in future. Talk about what is bothering you and come up with a solution together. Remember that doing this with a friend is different from doing it with the actual person you have issues with. After all, nobody can read other's mind.
Don't doubt your partner because of something that happened in the past. If it's still bothering you, resolve it for once and move on for good. Everybody has his or her own past. It would be wrong to judge them based on what happened in the past or use that as an example to prove your doubts on the person.
When there is something very important you want to say, don't hint it or use indirect phrases to pass your message. No matter how embarrassed you are to talk about it, you have to make sure that your partner got the message and the way you want to. Men, especially, have zero talent in taking subtle messages. So, if you think any of your hints were actually understood by your partner, you are wrong...!!!!
Being truthful is another aspect of gaining trust from your partner. Even if you ended up making a mistake, say it out right and apologize immediately. This way, next time you say something, your partner will know to trust you. Once you have apologized, keep your word and don't repeat them.
